Marble countertops can give you a really luxurious feel and help you elevate the overall appearance inside of your kitchen, but the problem is that they are very porous and can stain very easily. Granite Countertops

If you want the look of natural stone but want something that's a bit more durable, then you may want to consider getting granite countertops. While granite countertops are a natural stone and they can be a little bit porous, if they are sealed every six months to a year, then you will be good to go. The fun thing about granite countertops is that you can use them essentially as a sort of butcher block (you can cut on them and put hot pans on them) as long as you don't mind a little bit of imperfection. Another thing to know about granite countertops is they come in just about every shade and style around, so if you want the look of traditional Carrara marble, you can find a granite that's a really light grey or white with similar veining. 

Quartz Countertops

If you're something that's been more engineered, then go for a quartz countertop. Quartz countertop is one of the most durable types of countertops out there and will give you the look of marble and natural stone without the upkeep. Similar to granite countertops, quartz also comes in a variety of styles and colors so that you can choose a more customized look to match your house. But if you really want a natural stone, then going with this manufactured stone may not be the best way to go. 

Marble Backsplash

If you just love the look of marble and want real marble somewhere in your kitchen, then consider getting a marble backsplash. Different types of marble backsplash include getting an actual slab of marble and using it as a backsplash or get small marble tiles. If you want something more modern, then choosing a slab may be the place to go, but if you are looking for something more traditional, then going with a marble tile may help you achieve that look.
